A unique opportunity to meet and discuss issues with all five Topeka Mayoral Candidates.

WHERE: #785SunflowerHouse - a historic home located in Holiday Park

WHY: To give Young Professionals (defined as those between the age of 21 and 40) an opportunity to hear mayoral candidates discuss topics of importance to them / community in preparation for the upcoming Primary Mayoral Election.

GOAL: Increase the number of registered voters and voter turnout among YPs.

Our owner has never attended a candidate forum or any political party event, ever. So in order to get her there, we had to make it unique. The style of this forum combines food, conversation and information in an approachable atmosphere. Come caj and be relaxed. This is your time to learn about the future leadership of our city and perhaps meet some other cool, like-minding individuals.

FORMAT: Meet, Eat, Celebrate

Learn what the role of mayor is
Watch an introductory video of the candidates in main parlor
Food Truck Face Off - enjoy food from two food trucks and vote for your favorite. The winner will be announced in an epic way. YOUR VOTE MATTERS!
Travel to five different rooms in groups of six, meeting each mayoral candidate for seven minute Q&A sessions
Hang out in the backyard and enjoy music, refreshments and get voter registration information from Topeka's League of Women Voters and Forge - Topeka's YP Group.

RESTRICTIONS - THINGS TO NOTE:

The forum takes place on two floors of the home and is not handicap accessible. If you are unable to do stairs, please contact [email protected] and we can talk about alternatives to accommodate you.
